My name is Justin Pere and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) whose practice is centrally located in the Eastlake area. I offer a free initial consultation. I also offer night and weekend timeslots and even accept credit card payment online for your convenience.
My work includes helping others make sense of their experiences and navigate through struggles to achieve a greater sense of purpose, freedom, flexibility, and choice in their lives. The goal is always to enable clients to develop positive and effective ways of coping, and to better apply the skills they glean from therapy to all aspects of their lives.
I bring a diverse perspective to my work, informed by a broad base of experience providing services for a wide range of mental health, emotional, behavioral, and relationship issues.
As a Geriatric Mental Health Specialist (GMHS), I enjoy working with adult children of aging parents who are dealing with the challenging and troubling issues of caregiving, working through loss and grief, assessing for appropriate levels of care, and addressing family discord around a parent's needs.
Other specialties include working with the LGBT community to address any number of issues including the coming out process, sexual orientation, intimacy issues, internalized homophobia, and existential & spiritual issues.
Additionally, I have experience creating and leading a number of groups, including men's groups, gay men's support groups, and groups focused on grief & loss.
