I earned my graduate degrees at NYU, completed my internship at Columbia University's Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Program, located in St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital, and spent my undergrad years at Johns Hopkins. I furthered my psychotherapy education by obtaining post-graduate training and certification in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) at the esteemed Albert Ellis Institute in New York. My extensive training allowed me to work with the foremost psychotherapeutic authorities in the city.
I am a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. I work hard to be a skillful, caring, collaborative and empathetic therapist with a focus on achieving early symptom reduction. I routinely treat those with depression, anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, guilt, sexual concerns, transgender issues and chronic pain/illness. I work with couples in both traditional and alternative relationships.
My clients learn to identify the thoughts, emotions and behaviors that contribute to their discomfort. Together, we implement proven techniques to effect change that will lead to greater happiness and life-long fulfillment, no matter what adversities they may face. I teach individuals to build on their strenths. They learn the art of rational thinking, the basis for the attitudinal and philosophical changes which lead to happiness. I use a highly personalized approach, tailored to each client. My work is based upon the latest research about the most effective techniques in individual, couples and family counseling.
I work in a beautiful, comfortable and tranquil office located within a private psychotherapy suite. Sliding scale fees are available to those who qualify.
